Most companies offer monthly, quarterly and one-time cleans, and price them so monthly looks like the deal:

  • A one-time clean costs about 2.3 times the monthly rate (the median across 209 sites that list both).
  • A quarterly clean costs about 1.5 times the monthly rate per visit (208 sites).
  • Extra bins cost less than the first. $10 is the most common add-on price (66 of the 165 sites that list one), then $5 (36). About 8 in 10 charge between $5 and $10.

About 3 in 10 sites promise no contracts or cancel anytime.

The ranges overlap a lot. What the five companies closest to you charge matters more than any state median.

Bigger companies don't charge more

Companies with 100+ reviews charge a median of $25 a month for the first bin (38 sites). Companies with under 30 reviews charge the same $25 (31 sites), with the same middle range of $20 to $30.

The bigger companies win on visibility, not price. They're about ten times as likely to run Google ads, and their websites are bigger. See the industry report.

How to use this to set your price

  1. Start from your cost per stop, not the median. Drive time between stops, water, chemicals, fuel and payment fees set your floor. How to price bin cleaning walks through it.
  2. Check the five closest competitors. 93% of bin cleaning websites show their prices, so it takes ten minutes.
  3. Price one-time at about twice your monthly rate and quarterly at about 1.5 times, so monthly is the obvious deal.
  4. Charge less for extra bins. $5 to $10 each is normal.
  5. Don't race to the bottom. The bigger companies aren't cheaper. They're easier to find.
  6. Put your prices on your website and Google profile. In our client's ad data, people searching for prices booked at about 20% when they landed on a page that showed them.

Where these numbers come from

On October 12, 2026, we read the prices on the 335 bin cleaning websites we could load out of the 411 companies in our industry report. Each price is the first-bin price a site lists for that plan, read from the site and spot-checked by hand. Bi-monthly plans, promotions, taxes and commercial pricing aren't included. A few sites only list a price for two bins; we used the price as listed. "Middle half" is the range from the 25th to the 75th percentile.
